The Still Art Foundation collection was started in 2004. To date, it is the only large collection of 20th-21st century western photographic art in Russia. Fashion photography is a cornerstone of the collection, which includes photographic works that appeared on Vogue magazine covers in the 20th century. Authors’ limited edition prints and vintage art works by masters such as Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Patrick Demarchelier, Annie Leibovitz, and other photographers make it possible to reconstruct the historical evolution of this genre and accentuate the style and contribution of each artist. The collection currently includes over 250 photographs by more than 60 artists who shaped the concepts of beauty, fashion, and femininity in contemporary photography art.

We have a unique series of 12 photos by Steve Schapiro from the filming of ‘Godfather,’ printed by the author exclusively for the Karisalovs’ collection. The art works by Steve Mccurry featured in the collection prove that the collectors’ tastes in photography art are quite diverse. Our continuous and painstaking efforts, discriminating taste, and relentless search for interesting artists are helping us to add new but celebrated names to our catalog, e.g. Erik Madigan heck, David Drebin, and others.
