DENIS PIEL
The author's approach to photography is cinematic, which gives the images characteristic of gloss an atypical mystery. With this approach, inspired by the works of many filmmakers, Peel expanded the boundaries of the genre. The heroines of his photographs were models who in the 1980s became real stars of their time. In 1986, he did a shoot for Vogue USA with Tatiana Patits and Letizia Firmin-Dido. The photographer has always been interested in models who were or could become actresses in the frame, and did not blindly follow the photographer's instructions.

Denis Piel was fond of photographing one of the most famous supermodels of the 1990s, Tatjana Patitz, who is wearing a black suit in this photo. Tatjana was a woman of uncommon beauty and entered fashion history as one of the most striking and distinctive models. This photo was taken in southern France, in Cannes, and was featured in the Paris Collection and on the front pages of Vogue in January 1986. © Denis Piel
