VALERY PLOTNIKOV “HEROES OF THEIR TIME” AT THE MULTIMEDIA ART MUSEUM MOSCOW

The Still Art Foundation presents a solo exhibition by the renowned portrait photographer Valery Plotnikov — the creator of hundreds of portraits of prominent figures in Soviet and Russian art. The exhibition is part of the photobiennale “Fashion and Style in Photography - 2025”, held at the Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow, a long-term partner of the Foundation.
The exposition features over 60 works from the Foundation's collection, including portraits of Sergey Bondarchuk, Innokenty Smoktunovsky, Joseph Brodsky, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Serge Dovlatov, Bulat Okudzhava, Sergey Obraztsov, Alice Freindlich, Yuri Bashmet, Vladimir Spivakoff, Mikhail Boyarsky, Nikolai Tsiskaridze, and many others.

The Still Art Foundation, together with the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, present a solo exhibition “Fashion as a Spectacle” by Daniil Golovkin, one of Russia's most renowned and sought-after fashion photographers.
Six years after the first retrospective of the artist's works and the release of his first author’s album, the Foundation returns to Golovkin’s art to reveal new facets of his talent and showcase his boundless artistic range.
This exhibition is a part of the photobiennale “Fashion and Style in Photography – 2025”.
The exhibition will feature 64 works.
LAUREATES OF THE FOURTH SEASON OF THE STILL ART GRANT AT THE MULTIMEDIA ART MUSEUM

For the first time in the four-year history of the Still Art Foundation’s contemporary fashion photography grant program, the Foundation, together with the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, is hosting a collective exhibition of the laureates who received high praise and special attention from the expert jury during the portfolio reviews and voting process.
The exhibition features works by seven recipients of the 2024 Special Prize: Lilia Zhilina, Gosha In, Alexander Isakov, Andrei Kirsanov, Katya Pravda, Zhenya Filatova, and Egor Shabanov. The works of these emerging photographers reflect the complex transformative processes taking place in fashion photography today, as the environment and the industry undergo radical changes while new technologies are introduced and new standards are formed. The project is part of the photobiennale “Fashion and Style in Photography - 2025”.
DAMIR ZHUKENOV “BEYOND TIME” AT THE MULTIMEDIA ART MUSEUM

The Still Art Foundation, together with the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, presents the first solo exhibition “Beyond time” by Damir Zhukenov, a young Russian photographer and the winner of the fourth year of the Still Art Grant. This exhibition is supported by the Still Art Foundation as a part of annual grant program, established in 2021 to support and promote contemporary fashion photography in Russia, and is a part of photobiennale “Fashion and Style in Photography – 2025”. Zhukenov was awarded the main prize, which, in addition to the exhibition project, includes the publication of a book featuring a comprehensive retrospective of his works.
Damir Zhukenov’s exhibition embodies a profound understanding of 20th-century visual culture, a heritage that Damir consistently draws upon in his projects. This influence has helped him develop a distinctive and recognizable artistic signature.
ALEXEY DUNAEV "MOOD BOARD" AT THE MULTIMEDIA ART MUSEUM

The Still Art Foundation, together with the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, presented the first solo exhibition Mood Board by a young Russian photographer and winner of the third year Grant Still Art Alexey Dunaev as part of the photobiennale "Fashion and Style in Photography 2024". The exhibition is supported by the Still Art Foundation as part of an annual grant program founded by the Foundation in 2021 to support and promote contemporary fashion photography in Russia. Alexey was awarded the main prize, which, in addition to the exhibition project, includes the publication of a book with a wide retrospective of the artist's works.
Alexey Dunaev visual language was largely shaped by the influence of the traditions of fashion photography, namely through the orders of glamorous publications that formed a strong concrete environment for photographers in the early 20th century. Alexey is the voice of a new generation, living in constant change and seeking its self-identification. The photographer does not impose on his characters rigid frameworks of already existing role models, he sensitively records the process of identity search itself. Alexey’s works translate a fine reflection of the changes that fashion photography is undergoing today as a genre.
EXHIBITION OF THE STILL ART FOUNDATION GRANT PROGRAM “GOOD UPBRINGING” AT MMOMA

A fashion photography exhibition project “Good Upbringing” in partnership with Moscow Museum of Modern Art celebrates to the winners of the 3 years grant program launched by the Foundation in 2020. The exhibition features artworks by young Russian photographers - Bulat Arslanov, Dmitri Bulin, Alexey Dunaev, Nikolai Efimtsev, Sergei Klychikhin and Egor Shabanov.
The art works and photoseries presented in the exhibition are the most representative both for the artists and for the current young Russian fashion photography. The dissimilarity of the authors – in their working methods, visual media, artistic languages, subjects and themes – makes it possible to demonstrate the multifaceted and multidimensional representations of the modern visual culture.
The Museum based exhibition becomes a logical continuation of the ideas of the Foundation's grant program, the major goals of which are popularization and support of young talents of the Russian fashion photography.

An exhibition of the Zotov Center “Rodchenko. Personal” from the Still Art Foundation Collection, Myra Collection, archive of A. Rodchenko and
V. Stepanova, dedicated to the outstanding Russian avant-garde artist Alexander Rodchenko is opened in Levashovsky Bakery cultural center in Saint Petersburg.
The exhibition features 58 legendary photographs of Rodchenko from the Foundation’s collection, starting from his first photographic experiments in the 1920s to the end of the 1930s from two albums of the museum’s “Portfolio” series, released in an exclusive edition of 35 copies (1994–1997). The series of iconic photographs demonstrates the unique author's style and view of reality that was inherent to the artist.

On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Foundation the opening of a large-scale exhibition project “Collection of the Still Art Foundation. Masterpieces of World Fashion Photography” took place at the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow.
The exhibition includes works by legendary photographers who determined the development of world fashion photography of the XX-XXI centuries: Irving Penn, Horst P. Horst, Erwin Blumenfeld, Peter Lindbergh, Richard Avedon, Herb Ritts, Guy Bourdin, Helmut Newton, Patrick Demarchelier, Miles Aldridge, Nick Knight, Lillian Bassman, Albert Watson and others. The exhibition combines the diversity of creative styles of great authors and wide range of their creative innovations, which allow us to build a dialogue between photographers from different generations and trace the evolution of Western fashion photography from the 20th century to the present days.
The scenography of the exhibition “Collection of the Still Art Foundation. Masterpieces of World Fashion Photography“ refers to fashion shows and allows to focus on the most important works of the legends of world fashion photography and also opens up new names to a wide audience.

Centre Zotov is hosting a personal exhibition dedicated to the innovator in the field of photography, painting, object and graphic design Alexander Rodchenko.
The exhibition features 58 iconic photographs, including a series of photographic experiments from the 1920s to the end of the 1930s from the The Still Art Foundation collection. The series includes legendary portraits of the artist’s mother, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Lilia and Osip Brik and other photographic experiments of the outstanding avant-garde artist: the famous “Balconies” (1925), “Fire Escape” (1925), “Staircase” (1929), “Street” (1929) , “Pioneer Woman” (1930), as well as “Girl with a Watering Can” (1934), “Wild Flowers” (1937) and other works.

An exhibition project, dedicated to the work of the prominent avant-grade artist Alexander Rodchenko, opened at the Voronezh Regional Art Museum I.N. Kramskoy as part of the mutual partnership between the Still Art Foundation and The Lumiere Gallery.
The exhibition includes 58 silver-gelatin prints from two portfolio of museum series, which were issued by 35 copies in 1994-1997. In addition portraits of Rodchenko’s family and friends, including well-known architects, poets and writers, the exhibition presents architectural photographs and photo reports of the artist: the legendary "Balconies" (1925), "Staircase" (1929), "Fire Escape" (1925), as well as "Pioneer - trumpeter" (1930) and "Pioneer" (1930).

An exhibition of works by one of the founders of constructivism Alexander Rodchenko from the Still Art Foundation collection opened at the Museum of Modernity as part of the mutual regional programme of the Still Art Foundation and The Lumiere Gallery. The exhibition project reveals artwork and the author’s unique avant-garde language through 4 fundamental themes: Method, City, People and Documentary.
The exhibition presents 58 works, from the very first photographic experiments of the 1920s to the 1930s. In his photographs, Alexander Rodchenko broadcasts the world and life around him through a unique artistic composition. The documentation of the photographer’s era includes family photos, portraits of friends and contemporaries, architectural photographs and photo reports. Among the portrait series are the legendary portraits of Vladimir Mayakovsky, Lilia and Osip Brick and many other experimental works.

An exhibition of works by the outstanding artist of the Russian avant-garde Alexander Rodchenko from the Still Art Foundation collection opened at the Gallery of Modern Art as part of the mutual partnership between the Still Art Foundation and The Lumiere Gallery. Rodchenko's photographs from various years are displayed at the gallery, ranging from his first photographic experiments in the 1920s to the late 1930s.
The exhibition includes famous portraits of Alexander Rodchenko's friends - artists, architects, poets, writers, film directors, and employees of the magazines LEF and Novy LEF, including the iconic portrait of Lily Brik, which became the source for the Lengiz poster, several photographs of Vladimir Mayakovsky from their first photo session in Rodchenko's studio on Myasnitskaya (1924), and the legendary photograph of Osip Brik, with the title of LEF magazine embedded in the lens of one of the glasses.

The National Art Gallery "Khazine" in the Kazan Kremlin is hosting the exhibition of a classic of Soviet photography, Vladimir Lagrange, as a part of the mutual partnership between the Still Art Foundation and The Lumiere Gallery. The retrospective presents both the classic shots - "Granny" (1961), "Goalkeeper" (1961), "Pigeons of the World" (1962), "Young Ballerinas" (1962) and less well-known works of the late period of creativity. The exhibition reveals the story of forty years of Lagrange's work and reflects the progress of the artist and the crucial influence of time on his style, presentation and themes.
Lagrange's works were recognized true classics of Soviet art, while remaining in tune with what was happening with photography in the world. Vladimir Lagrange created a true portrait of an era - with the atmosphere of freedom, romance of youth and carelessness of childhood, revealing the lyricism of everyday life in a special way and reflecting the changes in Soviet and Russian life, using a new photographic language.
DMITRY BULIN "CODEX RESCRIPTUS" AT THE MULTIMEDIA ART MUSEUM

The Still Art Foundation, together with the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, presented the first solo exhibition Codex Rescriptus by a young Russian photographer Dmitry Bulin as part of the Photobiennale-2022. The exhibition is supported by the Still Art Foundation as part of a grant program founded by the Foundation in 2021 to support and promote contemporary fashion photography in Russia. Dmitry was awarded the main prize, which, in addition to the exhibition project, includes the publication of a book with a wide retrospective of the artist's works.
The Latin name Codex Rescriptus refers to the Greek word "palimpsest". In ancient times, this was the designation of a manuscript written on parchment that was already in such use. The exhibition consists of three series, which also included in the book, where Dmitry Bulin builds a dialogue with the works of the Northern Renaissance, the Italian Renaissance, as well as the cinema of the first third of the 20th century.

Two exhibitions by the Russian avant-garde artist Alexander Rodchenko and the classic Soviet photographer Vladimir Lagrange are presented at the Yeltsin Center as part of the mutual partnership between the Still Art Foundation and The Lumiere Gallery.
Vladimir Lagrange’s photographs have become a classic of Soviet photography and the personification of The Khrushchev Thaw during the 1960s. The irresistible desire of the photographer to observe the world, his attention to people, an amazing sense of the spirit of the era gave a large and serious archive. Vladimir Lagrange passed away on January 22, 2022. The retrospective at the Yeltsin Center will be the first exhibition since the artist's death.
Exhibition of the Alexander Rodchenko presented photographs from the 1920s-1930s, which shows his photographic talent for seeing the world from a different angle. Rodchenko is one of the leaders of the Russian avant-garde, an innovator in the field of painting, sculpture, book, poster, film and theater design. His experimental approach to photography forever changed the art form and emerged not only for his contemporaries, but also determined the development of photography for the future.

BEAUTY AND STYLE. THE HISTORY OF FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY FROM THE COLLECTION OF THE STILL ART FOUNDATION

The exhibition "Beauty and Style. The History of Fashion Photography from the Collection of the Still Art Foundation" was prepared by the Department of Contemporary Art of the State Hermitage as a part of the "Hermitage 20/21" project and will run from December 12th, 2021 to March 13th, 2022.
The exhibition tells the story of fashion photography from the second half of the 20th and 21st centuries and acquaints the viewer with the main motifs in the contemporary presentation of fashion through the example of works from the Still Art Foundation’s collection.
The show features original prints from Erwin Blumenfeld, Horst P. Horst, Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin that have already become classics. For the exhibition has been produced an illustrated catalogue with texts by Elena Karisalova, Dmitry Ozerkov, Natalia Grigorieva-Litvinskaya, Daria Panaiotti and Nathalie Herschdorfer.

The exhibition of one of the leaders of the Russian avant-garde and the true innovator Alexander Rodchenko within the regional partnership between the Still Art Foundation and The Lumiere Gallery in the space of the cultural center at Dom Radio in St. Petersburg.
The exhibition includes 58 iconic photographic experiments of Alexander Rodchenko from the private collection of the Still Art Foundation, as well as famous portraits of the photographer's friends, including Vladimir Mayakovsky, and architectural photography and photo essays. His experimental approach to photography completely changed the history of art and influenced not only his contemporaries but also defined the development of photography for many years to come.
JULIA MAYOROVA. "SILENT MODE" AT THE MULTIMEDIA ART MUSEUM

Still Art Foundation continues to support young artists and as a part of the XII Moscow International Biennale "Fashion and Style in Photography – 2021" at the Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow was opened the first solo exhibition named "Silent Mode" by Julia Mayorova, who is a young Russian fashion photographer. The exhibition was curated by Olga Sviblova, who is the director of the Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow. In addition to the exhibition, Still Art Foundation has published Julia Mayorova's book with the main artist's artworks.
The exhibition featured selected works from the artist's portfolio, including worldwide celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, George Clooney, Karlie Kloss and many others. Julia Mayorova has already worked with leading glossy media such as Interview, Vogue, Glamor, as well as cooperated with fashion brands, including Louis Vuitton, Apple, La Mer, Omega, and Estée Lauder.
«THE STYLE OF THE AGE. THE 20TH CENTURY THROUGH THE EYES OF RODCHENKO AND LAGRANGE» IN KRASNOYARSK

The exhibition «The Style of the Age. The 20th century through the eyes of Rodchenko and Lagrange» was opened in the Peace Square Museum center. The exhibition contains more than 200 photographs of artists and includes iconic portraits of Rodchenko’s relatives and friends: the portrait of Lily Brik, which was used in the famous Lengiz poster, the portraits of Vladimir Mayakovsky from the first photoshoot in Alexander Rodchenko’s studio and the portrait of Osip Brik with the LEF magazine logo put instead on one of the glass lenses. The exhibition also consists of works by Vladimir Lagrange, which reflect the later era of the 20th century – the «thaw» 60s. The exhibition represented his classic shots – «Granny» (1961), «Goalkeeper» (1961), «Doves of Peace» (1962) and less well-known works of the late period of creativity. The project was organized by Lumiere Gallery, Still Art Foundation, the Peace Square Museum center and by Natalia Sipetaya. Faces by Danil Golovkin, the first personal exhibition of the fashion photographer was powered by Still Art Foundation and opened to public in May 2019 at the Lumiere brothers center for photography. In November 2020 as a continuation of Faces by Danil Golovkin's project the photographic portraits of 60 powerful celebrities — Naomi Campbell, Annie Leibovitz, Philippe Starck, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, Milla Jovovich, Boris Grebenshchikov, Diana Vishneva, Natalia Vodianova, Basta, Alexander Gudkov and others — were exhibited at the Erarta Museum of contemporary art in Saint Petersburg.

ALEXANDER RODCHENKO. FROM THE STILL ART FOUNDATION COLLECTION

The “Alexander Rodchenko. From the Still Art Foundation collection” exhibition opened in the Lumiere Brothers Center of Photography. The Still Art Foundation offered a retrospective collection of works by this master of the Russian avant-garde for the exhibition. The collection ranged from the first photographic experiments of the 1920s to the end of the 1930s, including a recognizable portrait of Lilya Brik from a Lengiz publishing house poster, several photos of Vladimir Mayakovsky and the famous photo of Osip Brik from the LEF magazine. The exhibition was co-curated by Alexander Lavrentiev, a grandson of Alexander Rodchenko and leading expert in his artistic legacy. The portfolio of Rodchenko’s works, which is a part of the Still Art Foundation collection, was compiled under the direction of his daughter Varvara Rodchenko, Alexander Lavrentiev and gallerist Howard Schickler. The audio guide for the exhibition features the voice of Yuri Kolokolnikov, who played the role of Vladimir Mayakovsky, a poet and member of the Left Art Front (LEF) association, in the documentary drama “V. Mayakovsky.”
SASHA GUSOV’S SPECIAL PROJECT FOR STILL BEAUTY SPACE

A project by famous fashion photographer Sasha Gusov was presented at a gala dinner at the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, in honor of the first anniversary of Still Beauty Space. The veteran of fashion photography captured friends and partners of Still whose talent and beauty inspired the creation of the unique images in this beauty space. The project featured Olga Sviblova, Director of MAMM; Natalia Grigorieva-Litvinskaya, founder of the Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography; Irina Volskaya, founder of the Fragment Art Club; Aleksander Gudkov, artist; Natalya Eprikyan, Ekaterina Varnava, producer and actress; Vasilisa Kuzmina, film director and Elena Karisalova, founder of Still Art Foundation and Still Beauty Space.
EXHIBITION OF ICONIC VOGUE MAGAZINE COVERS

The legendary Vogue Fashion’s Night Out 2019 features part of a collection offered by the Still Art Foundation, which arranged an exhibition of the most famous Vogue covers from around the world in the TSUM Vintage space. The 25 exhibit items from the Foundation collection include works by Horst P. Horst, Irving Penn, Peter Lindbergh, Giovanni Gastel, Patrick Demarchelier and other famous photographers. This compilation of authors’ prints from iconic photographers narrates the development of fashion photography as a genre over the past 80 years.
DANIL GOLOVKIN. FACES

Because we know the importance of supporting photography-related initiatives in Russia, in May 2019 we assisted in the organization of Danil Golovkin’s first personal exhibition ‘Faces’ at the Lumiere Brothers Center of Photography, as well as in the publication of his book. Golovkin is one of the most popular photographers for glossy media, and his work has featured famous actors, musicians, artists, fashion celebrities, and prominent businessmen.

In December 2018, a large selection of art works from Still Art was displayed in the Moscow Multimedia Art Museum for the ‘Still Art Collection. Selected Works’ exhibition, which was a part of the ‘Private Collections in MMAM’ program. More than 75,000 visitors to MMAM had the opportunity to see the art works of Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Russel Young, and many others.

Thanks to our participation in exhibition projects, arrangement of our own exhibitions in the best Russian museums, continuous exploration, and desire to expand our collection, we can be sure that the Still Art Foundation will make a valuable contribution to photographic art of the 20th and 21st centuries. In October 2018, the owners decided to make the collection accessible to the general public. We made an official statement about the public relevance of these art works at the presentation of the first volume of our book at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.
